The Hotel Excelsior Beograd is located in the very heart of the city centre, just opposite the City hall and Parliament. Surrounded by Pionirski- and Tasmajdan Parks, it is within easy walking distance of the biggest city squares, all major embassies, theaters, old city Skadarlija, Kalemegdan Fortress, restaurants and clubs. By its location and tradition, the Hotel is suitable and popular for both, business and tourists.
Due to guest complaints we do not recommend to use Taxi transportation from the Airport. The hotel is offering safe airport transport at a fair price upon request. In case you would like to take a taxi directly at the airport, please only use official taxis (they have two signs on the roof).
As anywhere in Eastern Europe if you are a foreigner (and sometimes even if you are not), taxi drivers may try to overcharge you and it is smart to check the following before using a taxi in Belgrade:
Every Belgrade taxi company has to have 2 signs: a company unique sign and a smaller blue sign with Belgrade coat of arms and 4 white numbers - a unique registration number of each Belgrade taxi. If you catch a taxi without the second sign - chances are high that it's illegal and that the driver will try to rip you off.
The average fare around the broader center should not be higher than 450-550 dinars (350 for short rides), and it should always be by the meter - do not agree to a settled price.
For your transportation during your stay in Belgrade, please have the reception to call you a taxi. We are only working with official taxis, also some of the taxi companies provide discount if they are being called.
